Yesterday we went to Edmonton Pride, which is about a 3.5-hour drive from home, and let me just say, it was fantastic. Being in such a large group of gay people is a really great experience. It’s totally relaxed and comfortable and the energy is just so different than anywhere else. When we left, we remembered just how awkward and uncomortable it is to be living in a world where homosexuality isn’t completely accepted.
I wish everyday was Pride. One of the best experiences of my life.
I think that is partly why I love working at Walt Disney World. About 1/2 the people that work for Disney are gay and it is accepted 100%. In fact at disney they have a saying “Someone is gay until proved straight” So its pride everyday at Disney.
