Why are people so anti-frat?

Every time I bring it up people look at me funny. When did fraternities develop such a stigma? Idk, maybe it’s just my friends.
If it’s about hazing, that’s dumb, because hazing is against school policy, anyway. Plus, I don’t feel like getting raped or inflicting pain just to get in, soooo I wouldn’t do it. I’m gonna find a good one that has a no-rape/pain policy. Yay.
I’m not going to be some bonehead tool as soon as I join, either. I’m a social guy and you know it. Greek life is all about community and networking and I want the experience. So, why is this a bad idea??!! lol. Seriously, tell me.
I think it is because Frat guys usually think they are so amazing. Its the overall cockiness of frat guys that makes me kind of hate them. But, they are also filled with lots of drama, so you will fit right in. ;)
